While Salman Khan is on the verge of
wrapping up the shoot of Yash Raj Film’s ‘Tiger 3’ co-starring Katrina Kaif and
Emraan Hashmi, the release date of another film starring him has been
announced. ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed
by Farhad Samji, will hit the theatres on December 30, 2022. This film,
therefore, will be one of the last releases of this year.
‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’ was announced way
back in January 2020 when Salman Khan tweeted about the film. The film faced
its share of delays but is now ready to go on the floors in a couple of weeks. Salman
Khan’s birthday falls on 27 December, so there is a good chance the makers
decided on this release date keeping this in mind.
The film features ‘Radhe Shyam’ actress Pooja
Hegde, who recently performed with Khan in the Dabangg Tour, as the female
lead. The film, which is touted to be a family drama, will mark the seventh
collaboration between Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala who have
earlier collaborated on films like ‘Jeet’, ‘Judwaa’, ‘Har Dil Jo Pyaar Karega’,
‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge’, ‘Jaan-E-Mann’, and ‘Kick’.
‘Kick’, the last film Khan and Nadiadwala
collaborated on, marked the latter’s debut as a director. There have been
strong rumours about the producer working on the script of ‘Kick 2’ that is
expected to be announced soon. In ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’, Zaheer Iqbal and
Aseem Riaz have been reported to be playing the actor’s brothers.
