The renowned writer is survived by his wife Sarita Chauhan and daughter Sara Chauhan. The film industry is in deep sorrow over his passing.

FUNERAL DETAILS

Sanjay Chauhan, the author of Paan Singh Tomar, passed away last night, January 12. The author, according to sources, had recently been admitted to the hospital due to a severe liver condition. Sanjay passed away in a Mumbai hospital, and his funeral will be performed in the Oshiwara cremation in Mumbai today, January 13, at 12.30 p.m.


AVINASH DAS OFFERS HIS CONDOLENCES

Avinash Das, a filmmaker, was the first to offer his condolences. Avinash remembered the late writer's sense of humour in an Instagram post in which he paid tribute to his friend and mentor. SANJAY CHAUHAN

Sanjay Chauhan, who was well known for his work in screenplays and dialogue, has written the scripts for many films that won awards. He was raised and born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, and began his professional life as a journalist before relocating to Mumbai to pursue a career in entertainment. The crime TV series Bhanwar, which he wrote in the late 1990s, was his debut project. After that, he authored the scripts for Paan Singh Tomar, Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster, and I Am Kalam, the latter of which won him a Filmfare Award for Best Story. Other notable works by Sanjay Chauhan include Maine Gandhi Ko Nahi Maara, Dhoop, and the dialogue for the 2003 Sudhir Mishra film Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi.
