Like many other celebrities, Sanya Malhotra moved to Mumbai to pursue her acting career. The actress who established a name for herself in the industry debuted with the film Dangal in 2016. Over the years, she has featured in a number of films like Pataakha, Badhaai Ho, Ludo, Meenakshi Sundareshwar, and many more. The actress who will be now seen in the film H IT: The Fist Case spoke about safety in her hometown Delhi and how Mumbai is different when it comes to the issue.
Sanya said, “I am from Delhi and there's a very good reason why I prefer Mumbai to Delhi. I feel safer in Mumbai. I have no clue if Delhi has improved or not, but I don't feel safe there. I can't even point out a reason for that. I don't think there is a single woman in Delhi who hasn't faced eve-teasing.”
Earlier in an interview, the Love Hostel actress spoke about her time in Delhi saying, “There is so much to explore in Delhi. The city has many interesting experiences in terms of places and foods to offer. There are so many options that one is usually spoiled for choice. I remember while we were shooting for Badhaai Ho 2018 in Delhi, my mother used to cook for everyone and send it to the sets.”
Directed by Sailesh Kollanu, HIT: The First Case starring Rajkummar Rao is set to hit theatres on July 15. Apart from her upcoming release, Sanya Malhotra will also star in Atlee’s Jawan alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara.
