‘Satyaprem Ki Katha's’ opening weekend box office numbers were noticeably lower than those of their last movie, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, which was also directed by Sameer Vidwans and starred Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the major roles. ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’, a romantic movie, earned a respectable sum of almost Rs 9 crore on its first day of release. The film's debut fell on a Thursday, the day before the Eid al-Adha holiday.

‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ has received favourable reviews from critics thus far, and the positive buzz it has generated may help it succeed in the near future. In addition to Kartik and Kiara, the film, which was directed by Sameer Vidwans, also stars Supriya Pathak, Gajraj Rao, Siddharth Randheria, Anooradha Patel, Rajpal Yadav, Nirrmite Saawaant, and Shikha Talsania.
According to a report from Boxofficeindia.com, the movie ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ was able to earn roughly Rs 8.5–9 crore on Thursday. The report claims that, but for the influence of the Eid holiday, this collection would have been regarded as satisfactory. The movie's second day, a typical working Friday, will determine how well it does at the box office.
‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’ sold 51,500 tickets up to Wednesday at 10 p.m., according to a tweet from film industry expert Sumit Kadel, which was hailed as "one of the best pre-sales for a mid-sized film post the pandemic."
The 2022 hit ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, which brought in a staggering Rs 14 crore on its first day, outperformed the movie's opening weekend numbers by a wide margin. However, 'Satyaprem Ki Katha's opening haul is still an improvement over Kartik's prior theatrical release, 'Shehzada,' which debuted with Rs 6 crore and ultimately failed to find success at the box office.
The original title of the movie was ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’. To avoid any potential controversy, it was then altered to ‘Satyaprem Ki Katha’. The film's music, which contains well-known songs like ‘Naseeb Se’, ‘Aaj Ke Baad’, and ‘Pasoori Nu’, as well as upbeat dance numbers like ‘Sun Saini’ and ‘Gujju Pataka’, has received praise from the audience.
