Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi have joined hands to headline Dharma Productions’ next Selfiee. The team, which announced the film a couple of weeks ago by dropping a teaser, has now begun production. On Thursday, director Raj Mehta and Dharma Productions announced that Selfiee has officially commenced filming
Mehta, who made his directorial debut with Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh-starrer Good Newwz (2019), penned a heart-warming note for his producers Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta as well as the entire team of the film. He took to his Instagram handle and dropped a set of pictures from the mahurat pooja.
“As I begin another journey, there are a few people I have to thank! Karan Johar and Apoorva Mehta for placing their trust in me one more time and being the best bosses EVER. Akshay Kumar for letting me collaborate with him again and being a guiding light. Shashank Khaitan for always being there, absolutely selflessly. Emraan Hashmi for being a part of this journey and placing his belief in the story. Couple of other important people to be named a bit later. My entire team, my strength, my core. So, so blessed to be doing what I love the most. Let’s get this party started, shall we?” he wrote in the caption of his post.
For those not in the know, Selfiee is an official remake of the successful Malayalam-language film Driving License. The remake also features Nushrratt Bharuccha in an important role.
