The power house of talent, Taapsee Pannu is set to do the first biographical film of her career with Shabaash Mithu. Viacom 18 has recently dropped a brand new teaser for the much awaited film and fans can’t wait to witness Taapsee playing a cricketer.
The movie follows the story of Mithali Raj, the Indian captain who continues to break world records while guiding the Indian women's team to victory in the ICC Women's World Cup 2022.
The Game Over (2019) actress is shown going out onto the field amid the screaming sound of the crowd at a stadium in the one-minute teaser. Mithali, who has been labeled the most consistent player in women's cricket, has an inspiring narrative to tell.
Taapsee took to her Instagram handle to share the teaser and captioned, "In this Gentlemen’s sport, she did not bother to rewrite history ….. instead she created HER STORY! #AbKhelBadlega #ShabaashMithu Coming soon! #BreakTheBias #ShabaashMithu #ShabaashWomen #ShabaashYou."
While the teaser highlights the Woman in Blue's triumphs in the gentleman's game, the film depicts Mithali's life's highs and lows, disappointments, and moments of joy. The main lead is played by Taapsee Pannu. Outstanding actor, Vijay Raaz, will also play a significant role in the film.
Shabaash Mithu was shot in both domestic and international locations to accurately depict Mithali's legendary journey and steady rise to the international stage. Ajit Andhare is the Creative Producer for Viacom18 Studios' Shabaash Mithu, which is directed by Srijit Mukherji and written by Priya Aven.
