Shabaash Mithu, starring Taapsee Pannu, is ready to bring the inspiring story of legendary cricketer Mithali Raj to the big screen, and the trailer has just been unveiled. Former Indian cricketer and current BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly unveiled the trailer of the much-anticipated film.
Mithali's path from dreaming to be a cricketer to changing the face of women's cricket in India is depicted in the 3-minute video.
The trailer begins with a young Mithali who is interested in sports but does not have the opportunity to participate. Luckily for her, her coach (Vijay Raaz) recognises her potential and takes her under his wing. She goes on to earn a spot in the national and international squads, despite many difficulties. She is subsequently named captain of the Women's Indian Cricket Team, and she quickly sets out on a journey to give the team the recognition it deserves.
On July 15th, Shabaash Mithu, directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios, will be released in theatres.
On June 8, 2022, Mithali Raj announced her retirement from all forms of cricket. She retired as the leading run-scorer in women's One-Day Internationals. She played 232 times for India, scoring 7805 runs at an average of 50.68.
