Shabana Azmi gives a warm welcome to Shibani Dandekar to the Akhtar fam, shares a cheerful photo
Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar and Television personality, Shibani Dandekar have been the talk of the town since they tied the knot on 19th February, 2022. The wedding pictures of the duo went viral in no time and fans are adorning Farhan and Shibani's modest and joyous pictures from their big day. Javed Akhtar's wife and Farhan Akhtar's step mom, Shabana Azmi welcomed the new bride of the Akhtar family by sharing a lovely family picture on Instagram.
In the picture, the bride and groom can be seen posing with the Akhtar family. It featured Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Honey Irani, Farah Khan, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan's daughters Shakya and Akira and other members of the family. Welcoming her daughter-in-law to the family, the Amar Akbar Anthony (1977) actress captioned, "Happy family welcomes lovely #Shibani into the family fold (sic)."
Shibani, the new bride, previously made news when she changed her name on her official Instagram handle to Shibani Dandekar Akhtar, which included Farhan's surname. She also added "Mrs Akhtar" to her bio, which she changed slightly.
Shibani and Farhan met on the sets of the reality TV show I Can Do That in 2015, where Farhan was the host and Shibani one of the contestants. They started dating in 2018 and confirmed their relationship when they were spotted together at Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh's wedding. The duo tied the knot on 19th February, 2022 in Khandala at Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi's residence 'Sukoon'.
