Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan trolled with 'Boycott Pathaan' and 'Boycott Tiger 3' trending on social media
Social media a boon or bane has been a debate since its incubation. The film industry is closely tied to the impact of social media. In recent times the power of sharing thoughts from behind the screen has been abused by trolls. Aamir Khan’s recently released film ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ saw the wrath of trolls that insisted the film be Boycott. The film did suffer a negative impact from these trolls. Currently, the attention of the Boycott gangs has been shifted to two superstar films.
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’ and Salman Khan’s ‘Tiger 3’ have been trending with the hashtags BoycottPathaanMovie and #BoycottTiger3. On the brink of their release, the makers have good reason to react. "If India is an Intolerant Country, Then Why #ShahRukhKhan Is Still Living Here?" Read a troll that brought up an old interview of SRK where he said "There is Extreme Intolerance, There is Growing Intolerance in Bharat". The hate spewed over to Salman khan when a Twitter user wrote "The game is over for Bollywood's Bhaijaan, Badshah, Perfectionist etc. They have earned more than enough money, their stardom is decreasing day by day".
Over the weekend fan groups of the two stars clashed online with Salman Khan fans demanding SRK’s cameo from ‘Tiger 3’ be removed by writing "Please yrf a humble request from fans remove Srk from #Tiger3 don't want this panoti to ruin the film". SRK fans didn’t h=hesitate to give back by trending the hashtag “India Awaits Pathaan". The film ‘Tiger 3’ headlined by Salman Khan alongside Katrina Kaif with a Shah Rukh Khan cameo is slated to release in 2023.
