Directed by Rohit Shetty, Chennai Express is a 2013 film that garnered a lot of appreciation from critics and audiences. The Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer went on to become a blockbuster and set the cash registers jingling across the country.

It really impressed the audience and every character in the film was loved by them. One such actor was Sathyaraj who played the antagonist in the film and had a very powerful look. In an interview, the Baahubali star revealed the reason why he ended up doing Chennai Express.

Speaking of the film, Sathyaraj said that he was least impressed with the script of the film and his role in it when the makers approached him. He had second thoughts about working in the film yet ended up doing it. The reason behind this was his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan. “I like SRK’s acting a lot. His films, like DDLJ and several others, did extremely well,” revealed the actor.

For the unversed, Sathyaraj's role as Katappa in the Baahubali franchise got him a lot of fame and he became a household name in the country. Only after the success of the Baahubali franchise, people took note of his role in the Rohit Shetty directorial.
