Shah Rukh Khan's highly anticipated movie 'Jawan' is on the horizon, generating immense excitement among fans. However, the Bollywood icon has recently found himself embroiled in controversy due to his association with an online gaming ad. On the afternoon of Saturday, August 26, a gathering of individuals converged outside SRK's residence, Mannat, in Mumbai, expressing their protest against his endorsement of online gaming apps. This display prompted the swift deployment of Mumbai police personnel outside the actor's abode.

A23, a prominent online rummy portal, proudly welcomed Shah Rukh Khan as the Brand Ambassador for their A23 Games Platform. In a promotional video for the app, the actor encourages participation with the phrase 'Chalo Saath Khelein.' The backlash against this endorsement was led by the Untouch Youth Foundation, an organization vocal about their concerns regarding the negative impact of online gaming platforms like Junglee Rummy, Zupee, and others. The protestors voiced their belief that such apps have a corrupting influence on youth.

Untouch India Foundation issued an official statement articulating their stance: "Celebrities working in these ads are contributing to the misleading of society. Our protest targets Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat residence on behalf of our foundation." Krishchandra Adal, President of Untouch India Foundation, asserted, "The younger generation is increasingly involved in playing Junglee rummy. If an individual engages in such activities on the streets, they are apprehended by the police. However, renowned Bollywood stars promoting online games are essentially guiding our youth in the wrong direction. These celebrities are aware of the negative implications, yet they persist due to financial gains. We, the audience, make them famous by watching their films and investing our money in them. Our demand is for these advertisements to cease. These apps are not even accessible through Google, being relegated to private websites."
In response to the situation, Mumbai police promptly stationed personnel around Shah Rukh Khan's residence at Mannat in Bandra, Bandstand. Reports indicate that a handful of individuals were detained by the police. Videos circulated online display Mumbai police maintaining a secure perimeter around Mannat.
Meanwhile, the release of 'Jawan' is set for September 7, 2023, across theaters worldwide, with versions in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. The film stars Shah Rukh Khan alongside Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Sanya Malhotra, and Priyamani. Additionally, Deepika Padukone is slated to make a cameo appearance in the film.
