Shah Rukh Khan Starrer 'Jawan' Escalates Bidding War For Bagging OTT Rights

'Jawan' is the country's most eagerly anticipated movie, and Shah Rukh Khan plays the lead in the movie. He recently experienced the massive success of the year's biggest hit, 'Pathaan,' which has earned over Rs 1050 crores at the global box office and is still showing in some theatres.

Atlee, who previously helmed 'Bigil,' which made over Rs 300 crores globally, is the director of Jawan. In addition, including Nayanthara, Sanjay Dutt, Vijay Sethupathi, and a lengthy cameo by Deepika Padukone only strengthens this pan-Indian blockbuster, which debuts on June 2nd, 2023.

The bidding war for Jawan's digital rights has been exclusively reported by a reliable insider source from the OTT sector. The source has revealed it to the most popular news portal.

The source mentioned, "Jawan is viewed as a film that can bring in tremendous viewerships. The film has a universal appeal, and thanks to mega budgets spent on the scale of the film, it's expected to be a spectacle. Most importantly, it is a multi-lingual film which will penetrate across markets, garnering viewership across the country. In that sense, it's a true pan-India film with big names nationwide. It is bound to connect with a wider audience. All of this is a big win for any OTT platform".

The favorite to acquire the digital rights to 'Jawan' is Netflix. Red Chillies Entertainment and Netflix have a history of working together. The streaming juggernaut now owns over 20 Red Chillies Entertainment titles. It would like to add another title to its roster of movies licensed by Shah Rukh Khan's production company.

Many of Red Chillies Entertainment's original series had their rights extended late last year. They are reportedly good for 5 years.
