Shahid Kapoor Spills The Beans On Why He Took NO PAYCHECK For Vishal Bhardwaj's Haider!

Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor is known for his versatility and his willingness to take on challenging roles. In a recent interview, he revealed that he did Vishal Bhardwaj's 2014 film 'Haider' for free.
Kapoor said that the producers of 'Haider' could not afford to pay him his usual fee, and that the film's budget would not have been approved if they had. He also said that he was drawn to the film's complex and experimental subject matter.
"It was a very compelling kind of product to make and so I said, 'Yeah, I will do it for free,'" Kapoor said.
Kapoor's performance in 'Haider' was widely praised by critics and audiences alike. The film was also a box office success.
According to the sources Shahid Kapoor now in talks of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is said to be an out-and-out masala entertainer, and the script has been completely developed by Bhansali's team of writers. The filmmaker has been actively working towards casting the film over the last few months, and is having detailed conversations with Kapoor on the permutation and combinations with regards to the film.
This would be the first time that Kapoor and Bhansali would be collaborating on a project.

Kapoor is currently shooting for Ali Abbas Zafar's 'Bloody Daddy', which is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil film Mynaa. He is also set to star in director Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK's next film, which is a dark comedy.
