Sharmila Tagore will be making her silver screen comeback after 12 years with Gulmohar, an Amol Palekar film starring Manoj Bajpayee, Life Of Pi fame Suraj Sharma, and Simran Rishi Bagga in important roles. The film will be available on Disney+ Hotstar.
While fans are excited to see Tagore back on screen, many are anticipating a collaboration with her daughter-in-law, actress Kareena Kapoor. When asked about it, Sharmila stated that it is preferable if it occurs naturally rather than being forced.
Sharmila said to a tabloid that the audience is "rather wild," and that at the end of the day, they want to witness a well-made film. Kareena was working on a 'lovely film,' she said refering to Laal Singh Chaddha.
She said, “I’m very happy about that because this is the first shoot happening after the lockdown and Saif has just finished another film. So, we are all a family of working actors, and we all enjoy our work.”
Sharmila also stated that she had no uneasiness or difficulty when returning to the sets, and that she went back to work like a "duck to water," adding that it was "painless." She said that the film was shot in their homes, making it feel authentic. She also praised Manoj Bajpayee and expressed her admiration for him.
Sharmila Tagore was last seen in Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan's 2010 film Break Ke Baad.
