Shraddha Kapoor to headline Stree prequel; filming begins in August
Shraddha Kapoor, who was last seen in Baaghi 3, is presently shooting in Spain for Luv Ranjan’s upcoming movie alongside Ranbir Kapoor. The actress has reportedly signed a new film.
One of the most loved roles of Shraddha Kapoor has been in Stree, and apparently, she’ll be seen reprising her role in the upcoming project which is anticipated to be a prequel to the critically acclaimed horror-comedy.
Recently, Dinesh Vijan stated that he wants to create a cinematic world just like the Marvel Cinematic Universe but with horror films. The franchise is expected to spawn sequels and prequels now that Bhediya has joined Stree and Roohi. According to reports, the crew is now working on each of these individuals' backstories before they meet up in Bhediya, with the upcoming prequel being one of them.
Marathi filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar whose last film Zombivli received lots of appreciation will be the one directing the Stree prequel. Sarpotdar is currently working on another horror comedy titled Kakuda, which stars Sonakshi Sinha, Saqib Saleem, and Riteish Deshmukh. The film is currently in the post-production stage, which is why the shoot for the Stree prequel is expected to start by August.
Shraddha Kapoor is scheduled to finish filming alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Spain before August. The untitled film is supposed to be a romantic comedy in which Shraddha Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor are going to appear together for the first time on the big screen.
