Sonali Bendre, who is gearing up to make her digital debut with her upcoming series The Broken News, recently talked about being an accidental actress and missing out on learning opportunities while filming Sarfarosh (1999) with superstar Aamir Khan.
In a recent interview, Sonali stated that people in the film industry can no longer have a casual attitude due to OTT platforms. She also talked about her co-star Aamir Khan and her flick Sarfarosh. She further stated that while filming Sarfarosh, she missed the opportunity to learn from Aamir.
"I definitely want to be working now. I’m enjoying it so much. Now I’m no longer an accidental actor. I’m choosing to do this. Now I don’t have an excuse if I don’t get it right. When I did Sarfarosh with Aamir, I enjoyed it. I missed the opportunity to consciously learn from him during Sarfarosh, she said.
She continued, "If OTT platforms wouldn’t have come, we wouldn’t have got a second innings. That ‘chalta hai (casually saying it's okay)’ attitude cannot last anymore and I think that’s the best thing that has happened to our industry."
With The Broken News, Sonali will make her OTT debut. She plays Awaaz Bharati journalist Amina Qureshi. The show also stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shriya Pilgaonkar in key roles. It will be released on ZEE5.
