As the third anniversary of Sushant Singh Rajput's death comes on June 14, we remember his life and career, which took him from TV to Bollywood. Sushant was born in Patna, Bihar, on January 21, 1986. He was originally from Maldhiha, Bihar. Even though he did well in school and got the seventh best score in the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination, he dropped out of college to work in the theatre business. Sushant Singh Rajput was a National Olympiad Winner in Physics. However, he dropped out of college to pursue a career in showbiz.

In 2008, a casting team from Balaji Telefilms found Sushant while he was performing in a play. This was the start of his playing career. At the age of 22, he made his acting debut on the TV show ‘Kis Desh Mein Hai Meraa Dil’. He played Preet Juneja, the younger brother of Harshad Chopra's character Prem Juneja, who was a lively and mischievous person. Even though his character was killed too soon on the show, he came back as a spirit during the last episode to watch his family celebrate after going through hard times.

He played a mechanic who falls in love with Ankita Lokhande's character, Archana, a kind but ignorant woman. Sushant won many awards for Best TV actor for playing Manav, and his on-screen chemistry with Ankita led to a real-life relationship. But in October 2011, he left ‘Pavitra Rishta’ to take a filmmaking school abroad. Hiten Tejwani took his place after the show's timeline jumped ahead 20 years.

In December 2010, Sushant appeared on the dance reality show ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4’ and showed how good he was at dancing. When he was paired with dancer Shampa Sonthalia, he always made the judges happy. Because of this, he won the title of "Most Consistent Performer."
