Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad of the Samajwadi Party have been sharing pictures from their recent pre-wedding celebrations. The pair married in court and stated they filed their papers on January 6 under the Special Marriage Act. They recently celebrated haldi, mehendi, and sangeet with their loved ones.
In Delhi, she recently tied the knot with all the rituals and traditions. A video from Swara's bidaai (a ceremony marking a bride's departure from her parent’s house) has now surfaced online, and it shows the actress getting tearful as someone reads a poem on the occasion.
Swara is seen leaving her maternal home after the wedding, dressed in a pink lehenga and gold jewelry, alongside Fahad, her brother Ishan Bhasker, and her mother Ira Bhasker.
The wedding festivities began after Holi with a haldi ceremony, which evolved into a color-filled Holi party. It was followed by a mehendi and a Sangeet, both of which featured live performances by Carnatic vocalist Sudha Raghuraman.
Swara's spouse, Fahad Ahmad, is the state president of the Samajwadi Party's youth wing, the Samajwadi Yuvjan Sabha. Everyone from Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav attended the wedding celebration in Delhi this week. Jaya Bachchan, a Samajwadi Party member, was also present at the gathering.
