Swara Bhasker announced her court marriage with social activist Fahad Ahmad Khan in February. Images of the newlyweds filled social media pages, with netizens congratulating the couple. The pair married under the Special Marriage Act. Their traditional wedding began on March 11 with the Haldi ceremony, which was followed by mehendi, sangeet, and Qawwali night. On March 16, the newlyweds threw a magnificent wedding reception in the national capital, which was attended by figures from both the entertainment and political worlds, including Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, and Jaya Bachchan.

Swara and Fahad's wedding reception was held by the groom's family on March 19. It was largely attended by his friends. Swara chose a beige lehenga by a Pakistani designer for the second wedding event. She was decked out in a large nose ring and matha patti. Fahad, on the other hand, wore a golden kurta with a white sherwani and a white and gold dupatta.

Swara stunned fans and netizens when she donned a lehenga designed by Pakistani designer Ali Xeeshan and shipped all the way from Lahore, Pakistan. She expressed her 'obsession' with the dress and used the hashtag #CantStopWontStop. Many netizens were outraged with the actress for wearing a Pakistani design and endorsing a Pakistani designer, and some questioned when their receptions will end.
