Tara Sharma, and Koel Puri to play Agastya Nanda and Suhana Khan’s mothers in Zoya Akhtar-directed The Archies
The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar, has sparked a lot of interest so far. While the primary cast of the film has already been revealed, director Zoya Akhtar has chosen some unexpected casting for senior characters. The mothers of two of the cast’s main talents, Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda, will be played by Koel Puri and Tara Sharma, respectively.
Tara made her acting debut in Anupam Kher's Om Jai Jagdish, in which she played Abhishek Bachchan's wife. She will now be known as the mother of Abhishek's nephew.
Koel had her acting debut in the film Everybody Says I'm Fine, which was directed by actor-turned-director Rahul Bose. She most recently appeared in Sonam Kapoor's The Zoya Factor. Now, in The Archies, Koel will be directed by Zoya Akhtar.
The best part is that both the acts were chosen for their physical resemblance to their screen children, Agastya Nanda and Suhana Khan as Koel Purie and Tara Sharma's children.
The upcoming film is a Bollywood adaptation of the renowned comic book 'Archies', seeing which you will be lost in the remembrances of the ancient days. The film will be released on Netflix next year in 2023.
