Bhumi Pednekar recently discussed the making of bold scenes in her latest film, 'Thank You For Coming,' shedding light on her character's journey and experiences. The movie, directed by Karan Boolani, features Bhumi in a prominent role, alongside Anil Kapoor and a diverse ensemble cast, including Shehnaaz Gill, Kusha Kapila, Dolly Singh, Shibani Bedi, and Karan Kundrra.
In an interview, Bhumi shared insights into her character, Kanika Kapoor, emphasizing the profound emotional elements intertwined with the bold narrative. Reflecting on the depiction of an orgasm scene, she highlighted, “I believe the orgasm scene was filmed in a beautiful way. Karan told me that the camera would only capture my facial expressions.”
She elaborated further, emphasizing the emotional depth of her character's journey, touching upon themes of self-blame and the societal pressure on women to constantly question their worth in relationships.
One of the striking moments in the film involved Bhumi's character standing before a mirror, showcasing vulnerability. Bhumi clarified her approach to the scene, stating, “I didn't think it through. I have a strong belief in our audience and the fans I've built. If you closely examine that scene, you won't see anything revealing. It was a silhouette, and I was fully clothed throughout the scene. This is where the filmmaker's artistic approach plays a role. Karan explained that it was a silhouette shot.”
