Bhumi Pednekar's recent performance in the movie 'Thank You For Coming' has garnered significant acclaim. The film focuses on the theme of female pleasure and boasts a cast including Dolly Singh, Shibani Bedi, and Shehnaaz Gill. The filmmakers unveiled the song 'Pari Hoon Main' today, featuring Sushant Divgikar, known as Rani KoHEnur, who not only lends his vocals but also showcases a mesmerizing dance performance.
This marks the first instance of a trans person singing in an Indian film. The music video captures Sushant's stunning performance in an ornate attire adorned with feathers, accompanied by Bhumi Pednekar, Dolly Singh, Shibani Bedi, and Shehnaaz Gill.
'Pari Hoon Main' is a contemporary rendition of Suneeta Rao's song 'Paree Hoon Main' from the 1991 album Dhuan, with Sushant's vocals and Rahul Pais and Nariman Khambata's composition, building upon Rajesh Johri's original lyrics.
Sushant has portrayed both male and female characters in 'Thank You For Coming.' The movie, directed by Karan Bhoolani and produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, and Anil Kapoor, premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this year before its theatrical release on October 6.
In other news, Bhumi Pednekar is gearing up for her upcoming project 'Bhakshak,' supported by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment. Additionally, she has two films lined up with Arjun Kapoor, namely 'The Lady Killer' and 'Meri Patni Ka Remake', directed by Mudassar Aziz.
