Everyone's focus is on the 'Kerala Story.' Before it was even released, the Sudipto Sen-directed movie sparked a significant uproar. It was even demanded to be banned from theatres, according to some. The film's plot is on three women who are brainwashed, converted to Islam, and then forced to join ISIS. 'The Kerala Story's producers struggled to get the movie into theatres, but they were ultimately successful because of the film's enormous box office success. A few famous people also spoke out against the movie, calling it 'propaganda.' Naseeruddin Shah recently expressed his opinions on the use of cinema as a propaganda tool.
We are living in unsettling times, and explicit propaganda is being consumed, according to Naseeruddin Shah, who was spotted in 'Taj: Divided by Blood.' He added that it's currently trendy to despise Muslims. He said, "Muslim hating is fashionable these days, even among educated people. It’s what the ruling party has very cleverly tapped into this nerve. We talk about secular this, democracy that, so why are you introducing religion into everything?"
He continued by interrogating the electoral commission and posing the hypothetical scenario of a Muslim leader requesting that people say 'Allah Hu Akbar' while casting their votes.
Prior to this, Kamal Haasan gained notoriety when he referred to 'The Kerala Story' as a propaganda movie. He stated at IIFA 2023 that it is insufficient to merely write a true story-based logo at the bottom. It must be the actual truth. Similar sentiments were expressed by Anurag Kashyap, who referred to 'The Kerala Story' as a propaganda movie. But he made it clear that he opposes film bans in general.

The movie 'The Kerala Story' has become a hit. The movie made the second-highest domestic box office revenue of the year after crossing the Rs 200 crore mark. Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, and other important actors play key roles in the movie. Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah is behind it. Despite being outlawed in several states, the movie nonetheless managed to generate enough money.
