The Jiah Khan has been happening for a while. But it got all the attention this morning because the Mumbai Court is expected to give its decision on April 28. This is a big change in the case. According to a story from Bar and Bench, the last statements were made on April 20, and the judge said he would try to give the decision on Friday, April 28. Sooraj Pancholi's family is both hopeful and worried about the decision, but Jiah's mother, Rabia Khan, might not be well enough to go to court tomorrow. Jiah Khan, an actress, killed herself in her Juhu flat on June 2, 2013. She hung herself from the fan in her bedroom. At the time, she was only 25 years old.
On June 3, 2013, police in Mumbai found her dead body in her flat.
On June 7, 2013, Jia's sister found what is thought to be a suicide note written to Sooraj Pancholi. It was a handwritten letter with 6 pages.
Sooraj Pancholi was caught on June 11, 2013, for helping someone commit suicide.
Sooraj Pancholi's first request for bail was turned down on June 21, 2013.
Sooraj Pancholi walked out of jail on July 1, 2013, after a court in Mumbai gave him bail for Rs 50,000.
On July 2, 2013, the court said he was innocent and let him go free.
2014: The CBI took over the case after Rabia Khan's plea.
Sooraj Pancholi's father, Aditya Pancholi, sued Rabia Khan for slander right after the case was given to the CBI.
On May 15, 2014, the CBI went to the Pancholi home and searched it.
Sooraj Pancholi was questioned by the CBI at the end of June.
The CBI filed a chargesheet against Sooraj Pancholi on December 9, 2015, saying that he helped someone else commit suicide.
On August 1, 2016, CBI officials ruled out the chance that Jiah Khan had been killed and said She had killed herself.
In September 2017, Rabia Khan, Jiah Khan's mother, sent an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking for justice. She also started a campaign online to get people to sign a petition calling for the accused to be punished harshly.
Sooraj Pancholi filed a petition with the Bombay High Court in October 2017. The CBI later rejected the petition because they wanted to do more research.

The BBC made a show about Jiah Khan's death in Bollywood the same year. On January 30, 2018, the court accused of abetment to suicide. The star rejected the claims and said he wasn't guilty.
On April 28, 2023, the final decision will be made by the CBI court.
