After the Covid-19 pandemic, many films from the film industry have struggled to maintain audience and collect big numbers at the box office. Despite big stars and amazing storylines, several big-budget films failed to draw the audience to the theatres. Look at some big-budget films that have massively failed at the box office in 2022.

1. Jersey:-

The film stars Shahid Kapoor and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles, whereas the film is a remake of the superhit Telugu film of the same title. Gowtam Tinnanuri helmed the film by making his first directorial debut in the Hindi film industry. Despite getting praised for Shahid's performance, the film failed to give a big hit at the box office.

2. Thank God:-

It is a comedy film having big names in the film. Indra Kumar helmed the film, starring Ajay Devgn, Siddharth Malhotra, and Rakul Preet Singh, playing the lead role. The film also has Soundarya Sharma and Nora Fatehi in the film. It is an official remake of the Danish film, ‘Sorte Kugler.’ The film was released around Diwali in 2022 weekend. It has received a mixed response from critics and failed to succeed at the box office.

3. Heropanti 2:-

Heropanti 2 is a sequel to the film ‘Heropanti’ starring Tiger Shroff. Heropanti 2 has Tiger Shroff, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Tara Sutaria playing the lead roles, whereas the film has received the most negative reviews from critics. The film was a box office failure despite being released on the Eid 2022 weekend.

4. An Action Hero:-

Aanand L Rai and T-series produced the film, and the film ‘An Action Hero’ has Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat playing lead roles. The film marked the ‘Bala’ actor’s first action film of his career but emerged as a box office failure.

5. Runway 34:-

The film has legendary actors such as Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan still the film failed at the box office. It is Ajay’s third directorial film that received positive responses from critics. But still couldn’t hit big numbers at the box office.

6. Jayeshbhai Jordaar:-

The film is based on a female infant child abortion who wishes to have a male child to carry the legacy forward. The film has Ranveer Singh playing a romantic comic role alongside south actress Shalini Pandey and Boman Irani in the lead roles. The film got mostly positive reviews but failed to attract theatre crowds.

7. Dhaakad:-

It is a Kangana Ranaut starring action film, but it was not good enough to attract the audience to the big screen. Therefore it was declared a box office disaster. The film faced a big Bollywood clash with Kartik Aaryan’s horror comedy ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, the highest-grossing film of 2022.

8. Shamshera:-

It is an action thriller film starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt that failed at the box office. Despite having the actor in a double role. Karan Malhotra helmed the film, which was the most anticipated film of 2022.

9. Samrat Prithviraj:-

It is a period action film helmed by Dr Chandraparakash Dwivedi and stars Akshay Kumar in the lead role. The film has debutant actor Manushi Chhillar also in the lead role. 2022 has failed to be a good year for Akshay Kumar because his big-budgeted films like ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, ‘Bachchan Paandey’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘Ram Setu’ all failed to call the audience and did not give a big number at the box office.

10. Laal Singh Chaddha:-

It is one of the family entertainment films of Aamir Khan that failed to impress the audience at the box office. Advait Chandan helmed the film. The film marked the actor’s comeback after 4 years and starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh in significant roles. Still, it failed to impress the audience.
