Tum Bin actor Himanshu Malik reveals he was offered an affair in order to stay in limelight
Himanshu Malik said that after the release of Tum Bin, he was asked to have an affair with an upcoming actress in order to stay in the headlines.

Himanshu Malik rose to prominence following his role in the 2001 film Tum Bin. Anubhav Sinha wrote and directed the love drama, which also starred Raqesh Bapat, Priyanshu Chatterjee, and Sandali Sinha in prominent roles. In a recent interview, Malik highlighted the dark side of the film industry, revealing how a major magazine advised him to conduct an affair with an upcoming actress in order to stay in the headlines.
Himanshu Malik has taken on the role of director and is currently making headlines for his film Chitrakut (2022). During a recent interview, the Tum Bin star confessed that he was instructed to fake an affair in order to be in the spotlight during his early days.
He revealed, “I got a glimpse of how the industry is soon after Tum Bin and it disturbed me a lot. That was a time when magazines used to be huge. So I got a call from one huge magazine publication, asking me to have an affair. ‘If you have an affair with an upcoming actress, it makes for a good story’, I was told.”
He added, “I was shocked to realise such a thing happens. I was told ‘Yes, no one becomes a star without the publicity. We will talk to one or two candidates, they will be as famous as you are. We will even get you a room in Goa. You just go there and we will expose you.”
Auritra Ghosh, Vibhore Mayank, Naina Trivedi, Kiran Srinivas, and Shruti Bapna star in Chitrakut, which was released on 20th May.
