Turned down a lot of work while I was on a break, says Sonam Kapoor Ahuja

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja, best known for power-packed performances in films like 'Raanjhanaa', 'Neerja' and 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga', has an interesting filmography.

The actress, who was last seen in the 2019 film 'The Zoya Factor' hasn't had a release for more than three years now. Sonam was on a self-imposed work sabbatical, enjoying the break to the fullest.

Kapoor also became a mother last year, a role that she is totally loving. And while she has been missing from film scene, the National Award-winning actor is now looking for new innings at movies as she believes that's what she has been doing all her life- facing the camera and being the terrific artist that she is!

Sonam is married to Anand Ahuja and lives between the UK and India

Recently, during a media interaction, Sonam was asked about her upcoming projects and the reason why she hasn't signed any projects off lately.

To this, the 'Khoobsurat' actress replied that throughout the time, she was travelling between London, New Delhi and Mumbai but that did not affect her work at all. In fact, she refused quite a lot of films because she was on a work break.

"Taking a break from work during pregnancy has been the best decision as I got some time off," she said.

Sonam further added that she is now getting back to work and will also commence filming for her upcoming projects. "There's a lot to look forward to," she stated.

When asked about the kind of films she wishes to do now, the 37-year-old actress said: "I think everyone also needs to realise that I am coming back to work. Also, I did say no to a lot of work while I was on a break.”

Sonam Kapoor Ahuja will next be seen in 'Blind'

On professional front, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja will next feature in Shome Makhija's 'Blind'. An suspense thriller, the film has been shot completely in London and follows the story of a blind police offer looking to nab a serial killer.

Also starring Vinay Pathak, Lilette Dubey and Purab Kohli in pivotal roles, 'Blind' will reportedly have an OTT release later this year.
