Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, along with son Abhishek, visited the Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai, as his film Uunchai released in theatres on Friday (November 11).
Dressed in his trademark off-white traditional kurta, trousers and jacket, Big B made his way to seek blessings of Lord Ganpati amid heavy security arrangements. Abhishek also complimented his father by wearing similar outfit.
Noteworthy, Amitabh Bachchan paying a visit to the temple is being viewed as a gesture to seek divine blessings for his film Uunchai, which has released in selective screens across the country.
Uunchai is directed by Sooraj Barjatya under his banner Rajshri films. The movie, which also marks 75th year of the esteemed production house, has been released in approximately 900 screens across the world, with around 500 of those in India.
As per reports, the number of screens will be increased depending on the performance of the film and the collections. Yash Raj Films has been distributing Uunchai in major domestic regions except Orissa, CP and Berar where Rajshri's own team will be releasing the film.
Noteworthy, Uunchai marks the return of Sooraj Barjatya to direction seven years after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, which starred Sonam Kapoor and Salman Khan. A family drama, the film is based on friendship between senior citizens.
Besides Amitabh Bachchan, Uunchai also stars Parineeti Chopra, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Neena Gupta, Sarika and Danny Denzongpa in prominent roles.
