Varun Dhawan’s Sanki to be helmed by Ravi Udyawar?
According to reports, filmmaker Ravi Udyawar has been roped in to direct the upcoming Bollywood film Sanki, which stars Varun Dhawan in the lead role. Well-known producer Sajid Nadiadwala is bankrolling the film under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
Udyawar is known for directing the 2017 film Mom, which turned out to be the swan song of legendary actress Sridevi. He is presently busy filming an action thriller titled Yudhra. Starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan in principal roles, the film is being produced by Excel Entertainment.
“Sajid sir and Ravi sir have had multiple discussions on the film, and share the same vision for Sanki. They along with Varun are really excited to collaborate on this project, and will finalise the shooting dates and other logistics soon. The film is expected to go on the floors sometime in 2022,” a source close to the development informs a publication.
Meanwhile, Varun Dhawan has his plate full with several exciting projects lined up for release in 2022. He will next be seen in Dharma Productions’ Jug Jugg Jeeyo alongside Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor. He also headlines Maddock Films’ much-anticipated horror-comedy Bhediya with Kriti Sanon.
The actor is in talks for a few more films.
