Varun reveals he was ‘dying to work with Kiara Advani’ in Jugjugg Jeeyo
Varun Dhawan is currently busy promoting his upcoming film, Jugjugg Jeeyo, a family comedy in which he co-stars alongside Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor, and Neetu Kapoor.
In a recent interview, Dhawan opened up about working with Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) star Kiara Advani in Jugjugg Jeeyo. The Bhediya actor revealed that he was ‘dying’ to work with Advani.
He said, "We did one song and it did so well. So I just wanted to work with her as an actor and felt that our jodi or pair didn't get the limelight it needed or the platform. So this was perfect for both of us."
Varun and Kiara worked together for the first time on the song First Class in the 2019 film Kalank.
The actor later claimed that in order to get Jugjugg Jeeyo, he approached Raj Mehta. He said that they were caught up in the COVID-19 pandemic and unsure of whether to start a movie or not. Since Raj Mehta had worked with him on Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017) and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), he claimed to be somewhat comfortable with Raj.
The actor then claimed that he had contacted Raj and yelled at him twice to three to four times, telling him, "Are you mad?' If you have something good, please come to me." After that, Varun went to Raj and got the script, which is how he got the role.
Jugjugg Jeeyo is set to release on 24th June 2022.
