Veteran actor Tabassum passed away. Tabassum started her career at age three and rose to fame through her show Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan. She is best known for a few roles she played as a child actor and her well-liked celebrity chat show as an adult. She was 78. Soon after word of her passing spread, tributes started to stream in.
The director Madhur Bhandarkar said, “Sad to hear the demise of Veteran Actress & Anchor Tabassum ji. As a kid we used to watch her famous show on DDNational Phool Khile Hain Gulshan Gulshan. My heartfelt condolences to her Family Members & Admirers. #OmShanti.”
Actor Ranvir Shorey tweeted, “Oh no. Another invaluable piece of my childhood gone! ‘Phool Khile Hain Gulshan-Gulshan’ is the first celebrity chat show I remember, and the affable Tabassum ji was always such a delight to watch. May her soul rest in peace.”
In a social media message, the Cine and TV Artiste's Association expressed its sympathies on Tabassum's passing (she had been a member since 1994).

Tabassum made her cinematic debut as a child actor in 1947 with the movie Nargis, then appeared in Mera Suhaag, Manjhdhar, and Bari Behen (1949). When Deedar afterwards (1951). Her last movie role was in Swarg (1990).
