Welcome 3: Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar and Paresh Rawal return to take the franchise forward
According to reports, Welcome 3 is set to begin production in 2022. As the title aptly suggests, the upcoming film will mark the third installment of the highly successful comedy film franchise Welcome. While the first part of the franchise featured Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead roles, Welcome 2 starred John Abraham alongside Shruti Haasan.
If reports are to be believed, the franchise regulars Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, and Paresh Rawal are set to return for Welcome 3. Some more prominent names are expected to join the cast in the due course of time. Casting for the same is underway.
Spilling more beans, a source in the know tells a publication, “The script of Welcome 3 is already being written, and the plan is to take it on the floors in the latter part of next year. While Anil, Nana, and Paresh will be part of the third film, the makers are also aiming to rope in a much bigger cast for this one. Firoz Nadiadwala is planning to make the movie on a massive scale, and it will be an action-comedy.”
Welcome and Welcome 2 were directed by Anees Bazmee. There is no update on whether the filmmaker would return to helm the next installment, or the makers would rope in a new director for the same.
