An Action Hero, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Jaideep Ahlawat, was presented in theatres on December 2. The movie received overwhelmingly excellent reviews from both viewers and critics, but it was a financial failure at the box office, earning only Rs. 10.52 crore in two weeks.
In the comedy-thriller that served as Anirudh Iyer's directorial debut, Jaideep Ahlawat played the Haryanvi cop named Bhoora Solanki who is matched against Ayushmann Khurrana as a star named Maanav Khuranna. Jaideep discussed the movie's underwhelming box-office performance in a recent interview.
HERE'S WHAT JAIDEEP STATED
The Raazi actor remarked in a statement, "There is some reflection following a failed movie about what might have gone wrong with the movie. Although it is receiving nearly entirely favorable reviews, few people are flocking to the movies to see it. It's a little depressing, and nobody likes to dwell on feelings like that. It is definitely not a pleasant sensation because it is the result of so much labour."
"It's a clever movie that moves quickly and contains humour and action. It can be a little disconcerting when the general public doesn't show up to watch the movie because everyone who has watched it has only been complimentary to me about the movie. But it's alright. It's a phase that occasionally works out and other times doesn't. There's no use berating oneself. I believe that as a culture, we are still not at the point where we regularly attend plays and movies like we were before the pandemic. I believe that "we're less used to it" (aadat thodi kam padh gayi hai) It's just my opinion, but hopefully, this stage passes and we get over it "the actor said in conclusion.
