When Alia Bhatt talked about her first meeting with hubby Ranbir Kapoor

Alia Bhatt has starred in several hit films like Student of the Year (2012), 2 States (2014), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), Kapoor & Sons (2016), and most recently RRR (2022) and Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022).

At the top of her game right now, Alia is looking forward to the release of Brahmastra which marks her first onscreen collaboration with husband Ranbir Kapoor.

Fans are super excited about the film and to see the real-life couple lit the screen with their romance and sizzling chemistry. While Alia and Ranbir are man and wife now, there was a time when Alia admitted that she was smitten by Ranbir when she spoke about her first meeting with the actor.

Talking about the episode in an interview in 2014, Alia said she first met Ranbir Kapoor on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black (where Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor were assistant directors).

Alia revealed that she was only 11 years old then and she did a mini photoshoot with Ranbir on the sets, where she put her head on his shoulders.

“It was damn stupid. And Sanjay sir still tells me you were flirting with Ranbir even at that time. I didn’t even know what flirting means, then," Alia recalls laughingly, adding that she fell in love with Ranbir in the very first frame of Saawariya and that she wishes to work with him someday.

Interestingly, at that time, no one (perhaps even Alia and Ranbir themselves) had imagined that they would marry each other in the future and later star together in a big-budget fantasy film.

As of now, we are eagerly waiting for September 9 so that we can watch Alia and Ranbir create magic onscreen in Brahmastra.
