When Rishi Kapoor expressed his desire to meet Ranbir Kapoor's kids ‘before I’m gone’
Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor is all set to become a father soon. On June 27, his wife, actress Alia Bhatt, announced that they are expecting their first child together. The news spread like a wildfire on social media as soon as the Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022) actress made the announcement. For the unversed, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot in April this year.
The couple’s family members including Soni Razdan, Neetu Kapoor, Mahesh Bhatt, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, and Karisma Kapoor expressed their happiness following the good news.

In an interview two years before his demise in 2020, Rishi expressed his desire to "spend time" with Ranbir's children as his final wish. He previously said, "It is high time he got married. I settled down when I was 27, and Ranbir is 35. So he should think about marriage. He can marry anyone of his choice; we don't have any objection to it. I want to spend time with my grandchildren before I am gone."
After receiving a leukaemia diagnosis in 2018, Rishi Kapoor sought treatment in New York City. He passed away in April 2020 at the age of 68 after a two-year battle with cancer.
