When Rishi Kapoor Spoke About Ranbir Kapoor Being A Parent; 'I Hope He Fills The Gaps…' (Details Inside)

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, the most talked-about couple in Bollywood, wed in April 2022 and have a daughter they called Raha. Going back in time, the couple's timeline was inundated with congratulations when they announced their pregnancy in 2022. Rishi Kapoor, a seasoned actor and Ranbir Kapoor's father, once shared his opinions on Ranbir's upcoming parenthood because he was unable to be present for the birth of his granddaughter.

Rishi Kapoor, the star of ‘Prem Rog,’ once made an appearance on Anupam Kher's chat program where he discussed fatherhood and the relationship, he had with his father Raj Kapoor and his own son, Ranbir Kapoor.

Rishi had admitted throughout the interview that he and his father didn't share a close, buddy-like relationship. He stated, “He (Raj Kapoor) did not have time for his children. Either he was working for someone, or he was directing and starring in his own movies. So when I became a father, I decided to not shoot on Sundays and dedicate that day to my kids. So with every generation, thinking changes. I know what I missed out with my father, so I made sure to fill in those gaps."

The late veteran actor added, “I am sure Ranbir will do something with his kid what he missed out with me. I think I have inculcated a sense of tradition and culture in that boy.”

In addition, Rishi Kapoor, who passed away in the year 2020, admitted to building a "glass wall" between himself and his kid on purpose since the father believed that they needed separation. This was also a result of Rishi's desire to be respected as a father rather than a buddy.

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt wed in April 2022 in Mumbai at their home Vastu after courting for approximately four years. Only the couple's closest family and friends attended the small, private wedding.

Alia announced the news of her pregnancy shortly after getting married with an Instagram post that showed her and Ranbir examining an ultrasound machine in a hospital. In addition, the ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ actress posted a picture of a lion and lioness holding their child and said, "Our baby, coming soon."
