Even though Aayush Sharma is well-known as a Bollywood actor, few people are aware of his political roots. Aayush Sharma, son of Anil Sharma and grandson of the late Sukh Ram Sharma, congratulated his father on winning the assembly elections in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

As the results for the assembly elections were announced today, Aayush Sharma shared a congratulatory post for the newly elected MLA, i.e. his father, saying,“Legacy lives on.. congratulations dad and thank you to all the voters of Mandi to keep faith in the family alive.”

Aayush Sharma, who comes from a respectable family with a history in politics, is the grandson of the late Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma, a former union minister and minister of telecom who died in May of this year. Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma, who made the first call over a cellphone in India and is credited with starting the telecom revolution in that country, is regarded as one of the most respected leaders in the entire country, not just in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
The lineage has been furthered by Aayush's father, who was successfully elected as the Mandi constituency's MLA.
In a lavish ceremony in November 2014, Aayush wed Arpita, Salman's sister. The couple has two children.
