Akshay's Pad Man earns Rs. 10.26 crores on its opening day!
Collections are expected to be far better over the weekend.

Superstar Akshay Kumar 's latest film Pad Man , which opened in cinemas on 9th February, minted Rs. 10.26 crores on its opening day. Directed by R Balki , the film opened to extremely positive reviews with most of the film critics declaring Akshay's performance in the film as his best in his long career. Though Kumar has seen his films opening with better numbers in the past, ' Pad Man ' is a movie which has potential to grow once good word of mouth sets in. Since everyone has given thumbs up to the film, it is expected to grow phenomenally over the weekend.
Besides Akshay Kumar , Pad Man also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in important roles. Every actor associated with the film has been getting a good response for their performance, which means the film is going to see better occupancy as fans of these stars will throng theatres over the weekend.
Pad Man could have racked up a little more had Sanjay Leela Bhansali 's Padmaavat not been in the fray. Since the period film is still doing good business in many cinemas across the country, it took away a decent chunk of income from Pad Man.
Pad Man is expected to finish its first weekend with an income of Rs. 35-40 crores at the domestic box office.
