Anubhuti Kashyap's Doctor G, which stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah in lead roles, has registered a stable viewer footfall on the ninth day of its release. However, the medical comedy is facing competition from new releases like Black Adam and Kantara (dubbed Hindi version).
On Saturday, Doctor G minted a total of Rs 1.65 crores, taking the total worldwide collection of the film to Rs 35.02 crore, while the domestic total stands at Rs 21.95 crore.
While the increase in BO collection is marginal, as per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the film is still doing good compared to other mid-sized films released in the past.
Meanwhile, with T-20 India-Pakistan match on Sunday followed by Diwali on Monday it is to be seen if the film picks up in the second week or not.
Produced by Junglee Pictures, Doctor G follows the struggle of Uday "Guddu" Gupta (played by Khurrana), a doctor, who is interested in orthopaedics but ends up becoming a male gynaecologist, leading to some chaotic but hilarious circumstances.
