R Balki's Chup, which stars Dulquer Salmaan, Pooja Bhatt, Shreya Dhanwantharay and Sunny Deol, is witnessing good footfall in theatres and has grossed over Rs. 3.6 crore on day one of its release.
As per reports, the film's day one collection have surpassed the expected figures as it release co-incided with National Cinema Day for which ticket prices were slashed across the country. Trade pundits opine that the move further helped 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist' in capturing a sizeable audience on its release day.
For starters, 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist' is a psychological crime thriller film written and directed by R. Balki. It is produced by Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, Jayantilal Gada, Gauri Shinde, and Anil Naidu, under Hope Production.
The film follows a serial killer who targets film critics who give dishonest reviews for films. Inspector General of Mumbai Arvind Mathur is given the responsibility to catch the serial killer.
'Chup: Revenge of the Artist' released on 23 September 2022 to positive reviews from the critics and audience, alike. The performances (especially of Deol's and Salmaan's), direction, music, cinematography, sound design, editing, meta-commentary, and production design were highly praised. The linear narrative and climax were criticized.
