Despite being a non-masala film, Ajay Devgn’s Raid collects Rs. 10.04 crores on day 1!
Helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the movie stars Ajay, Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D’Cruz and its collections are expected to rise on weekends.

Ajay Devgn , who scored a double century at the box office with his last release, Golmaal Again , has now starred in a completely different film, Raid . Unlike his last masala film, Raid is based on a real incident of Income Tax raid, which took place in the b1980s. The film released yesterday and garnered positive critical acclaim. Though the movie was a solo release of the week, it faced a stiff competition from Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety . Despite being a non-commercial film and even after facing competition, Raid managed to earn in double digits on its first Friday. With the help of strong word of mouth, the movie minted Rs. 10.04 crores on day 1.
With 10 plus crores on day 1, Raid becomes the third highest film in terms of opening day collections of 2018. The film is only behind Padmaavat and Pad Man , which pocketed Rs. 19 crores and Rs 10.26 crores respectively on day 1.
Raid is made under the banner of Bhushan Kumar ’s T-Series and it is helmed by Raj Kumar Gupt a. Apart from Ajay and Saurabh Shukla , actress Ileana D’Cruz is also in the film, playing Ajay’s wife. The film is expected to collect high figures on Saturday and Sunday.
