Dhanush is back dazzling on the big screens with his latest movie Vaathi following the huge success of Thiruchitrabalam starring Nithya Menon. Vaathi, starring Dhanush, is currently playing in theatres all over the world and is getting positive reviews in both its Tamil and Telugu versions. The movie which chronicles one man's struggle to change the educational system in the 1990s has struck a chord with viewers. The film has managed to collect great numbers at the box office.
According to reports, the film Vaathi/Sir made over Rs 60 crore in just five days and added over Rs 5 crore on day six to surpass over Rs 65 crore globally. The movie has reportedly made over Rs 2.4 crores in the USA market, where it is also enjoying amazing success. Vaathi/Sir is expected to have made around Rs 5 crores in foreign sales total. The bilingual drama's second weekend take is anticipated to be a solid one, and it is planned for the movie to add some swift numbers in the coming days. In Tamil Nadu and Telugu states, "Vaathi"/"Sir" is doing quite well, and the movie receives excellent attendance for the evening and night shows on weekdays.
Samyuktha and Samuthirakani play major roles in the movie, which features music by GV Prakash Kumar. The privatization of the educational system is highlighted in the movie, as is one man's attempt to stop it. With last year's Tamil drama Thiruchitrambalam, which made over 100 crores throughout its theatrical run, Vaathi becomes Dhanush's second straight smash.
