Another day, more excellent foot traffic. Since its debut, Drishyam 2 has exceeded expectations, and with an additional Rs. 9.50 crores* coming in, things have continued to be fairly fantastic for the sixth day in a row. Only 10 Hindi films in 2022 have made more than Rs. 10 crore on their opening day, and Drishyam 2 is currently doing slightly below that on its sixth day. That pretty well sums up Bollywood's sixth-day performance, with only Brahmastra (Rs. 10.50 crores) and The Kashmir Files (Rs. 19.05 crores) performing better.
The Ajay Devgn-starring movie has already made Rs. 95.99 crores*, and as you read this, it would be getting ready to celebrate joining the Rs. 100 Crore Club. The movie will do much more, though, as all the signs point to it still being only in the middle. The journey of this Abhishek Pathak-directed movie from there to the Rs. 200 Crore Club will be closely watched. It will undoubtedly surpass the lifetime numbers of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (Rs. 185.92 crores).
The run of Uunchai will end around the Rs. 30 crore mark, hence no significant milestones will be reached. The Sooraj Barjatya-directed movie has been performing poorly over the workweek, and Wednesday's receipt of Rs. 0.60 crores* was further evidence of that. Considering the film's poor second-week box office performance, it really needed to perform better to enter the above average range. However, for the time being, it will remain in the average to below average range. That said, it has managed to keep its head above water with Rs. 25.52 crores* in its coffers so far, which is respectable considering that 90% of the releases in 2022 haven't even done that.
