The first film in the trilogy, ‘Fukrey’, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, was an unexpected smash in 2013, grossing Rs. 36.50 crores. Fukrey 2 surpassed Rs. 80.32 crores in lifetime revenues, starring Pulkit Samrat, Richa Chadha, Ali Fazal, Varun Sharma, Manjot Singh, Pankaj Tripathi, Priya Anand, and Vishakha Singh. ‘Fukrey 3’, which was recently released, is now poised to be yet another success story for the franchise.
During its four-day weekend, ‘Fukrey 3’ grossed Rs. 43.48 crores. As a result, it has the highest first weekend results for a film in the franchise. The previous high was set by ‘Fukrey Returns’, who earned Rs. 32.20 crores. In fact, ‘Fukrey 3’ has already surpassed the lifetime total of the franchise's debut film (Rs. 36.50 crores).

The hilarious escapade put on a fine show on Monday as well due to a National Holiday, and the five-day total for the holiday period would be in the region of Rs 50 crore. Then it's a matter of displaying the regular weekday hold and the weekend rises to hit a century at the domestic box office.

With such a large sum already in its bank in its first weekend, ‘Fukrey 3’ appears certain to surpass the lifetime total of ‘Fukrey Returns’ and become the franchise's most successful film. It also has a good possibility of exceeding Rs. 100 crores. It should be noted that ‘Fukrey 3’ attained this figure despite the absence of Ali Fazal.
