A few years back, Luv Ranjan brought the unique way of storytelling via his films Pyaar Ka Punchnama 1 and 2 and it became youth’s favourite in no time. After a gap of 2 years, he brought bromance vs romance in the form of Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety and it is receiving exceptionally well by the masses. The Kartik Aaryan , Nushrat Bharucha and Sunny Singh starrer SKTKS released yesterday and surprised all by earning huge figures on day 1. Big movies like Padmaavat , Pad Man and Aiyaary are still in the theatres but the Luv Ranjan ’s rom-com outperformed every other film and emerged as the clear winner. On its first Friday, the film managed to pocket in Rs. 6.42 crores and became the third highest opening day grosser of 2018 so far.
The film had no big director, no A-Listers and was released on a non-holiday and it still did a brilliant business. The fresh concept of a war between love and friendship is welcomed open-heartedly by the movie lovers and Yo Yo Singh ’s music just did icing on the ice.
Made under the banner of Bhushan Kumar ’s T-Series, the film also starred Alok Nath , Deepika Amin and Pawan Chopra in supporting roles.
The film is expected to surpass Neeraj Pandey ’s Aiyaary by the first weekend itself.
