Mark Antony, a Tamil film, is nearing the conclusion of its box office run and has already surpassed Rs. 100 crore globally in its fourth weekend. To date, the film starring Vishal and S. J. Suryah has grossed almost Rs. 82 crore in India. It has made an additional USD 2.30 million (Rs. 19 crore) internationally, for a total global box office gross of Rs. 101 crore.
Quite early in the film's existence, Mark Antony emerged as the greatest box office grosser for the protagonist Vishal. Now, the film has become his first to make more than Rs. 100 crore globally. Vishal had a rough run at the box office for a long time before scoring big with his career-best performance.
The box office receipts of Mark Antony in India are as follows:
First week: Rs. 54 crore
Second week: Rs. 23.50 crore
Third Week: Rs. 3.75 crore
Fourth Weekend: Rs. 60 lakh
The film has grossed Rs. 62.50 crores in Tamil Nadu, making it the state's fifth-highest grosser of the year, trailing four Rs. 100 crore grossers: Jailer, Varisu, PS 2 and Thunivu. Prior to Mark Antony, Vishal's greatest grosser in Tamil Nadu was the 2018 release Irumbu Thirai, which grossed barely Rs. 27 crore. Mark Antony easily outperformed that, with the final total being much over twice of that.
The first half of 2023 was a bit dry at the Tamil Nadu box office, but the second half is off to a good start, with a mega grosser Jailer and a few other highs such as Mark Antony, Maamannan, Maaveeran, and Jawan. A box office volcano is due to explode in two weeks, so the good luck will continue.
The following is a breakdown of Mark Antony's box office receipts by territory:
Tamil Nadu: Rs. 62.50 crore
AP/TS: Rs. 9 crore
Karnataka: Rs. 5.50 crore
Kerala: Rs. 4.10 crore
North India: Rs. 0.75 crore
