Akshay Kumar's latest film, 'Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,' has taken a lukewarm start at the box office, collecting an estimated Rs. 3.50 crore on its opening day. The film, which is based on the true story of a coal mine rescue operation in 1989, was made on a budget of over Rs. 100 crore.

Trade experts are hoping that the film picks up in the evening shows, as it has received good reviews and Akshay's performance has been praised by critics. However, the film's advance booking was not impressive, with tickets worth only Rs. 76 lakh being sold.
This is Akshay Kumar's last release of the year, and he will be back on the big screen in 2023 with at least five films, including 'Start Up', 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan', 'Singham Again', 'Sky Force', and 'Welcome to the Jungle.'

It remains to be seen whether 'Mission Raniganj' will be able to turn things around and become a box office success.
