September 19th marked the release of two films ' Daawat-E-Ishq ' and ' Khoobsurat ' in the theatres. Both the films were based on common genre of romantic-comedy and starred new generation actors like Parineeti Chopra , Aditya Roy Kapur , Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan .
Filmed in the spicy Hyderabadi and Nawabi Lucknowi culture, ' Daawat-E-Ishq ' flared well in the single screens of Lucknow, Surat, Kanpur, Indore and other small towns with 20-22% occupancy. Yash Raj Films banner distributed the film in 1800-2000 screens all over India. As compared to these efforts the film got average reviews for its average performance, garnering the average collection of INR 4.80 Cr nett at the box-office on its first day.
Projecting the story of royal-misfit, ' Khoobsurat ' was strictly confined to the metro cities Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi with 15% occupancy at the multiplexes. Being a Disney film, it didn't attract the rural mass to the theatres. The film collected INR 3-3.10 Cr nett at the box-office on its first day.
As per the current status, Parineeti-Aditya starrer ' Daawat-E-Ishq ' has proved the victorious over Sonam-Fawad's ' Khoobsurat '.
