First Day Box Office Collection of 'Shahid'
Inspite of catering remarkable response from the film critics, \'Shahid\' didn\'t earned the same limelight at the box-office because of its average first day box-office collection.

The dawn of 18th October marked the release of Hansal Mehta 's ' Shahid ', the biographical narration of the late human right activist and lawyer Shahid Azmi. Though the film studded gold at its international screening and earned noteworthy praises from the film critics, it failed to shine at the domestic box-office making an average business on its first day of release.
The story starts with a young citizen imprisoned under false charges over him. The film is bound to touch one's heart with its inspirational real-life story, who had been a messiah to all the innocent people getting arrested under wrong charges. It ends with Shahid Azmi's assassination, which had occurred in the year 2010.
' Shahid ' did earn appreciations, but being a low budget film, it lacked the starry glitterati. The movie is expected to garner 8-9 crore nett approximately on the first day of its release. It has to achieve good figures at the box office in the first week of its release, as the film may face tough competition from the next week's three releases.
' Kai Po Che ' fame, Rajkummar Rao is seen in the lead role as the lawyer Shahid Azmi, who has delivered his best piece in ' Shahid '. The distribution was done by UTV Motion Pictures .
