RajKumar Santoshi 's action-comedy ' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' hit the screens on September 20 and it was decorated with the impeccable starcast, melodious music and over-the-top action sequences. The movie starred Shahid Kapoor , Ileana D'cruz , Padmini Kolhapure , Saurabh Shukla and Darshan Jariwala in key roles. Even though the film witnessed a big promotional spree, it could not relish the dream run at the box office. The other release that illumine the screens on the same day was ' The Lunchbox ' by Ritesh Batra . ' The Lunchbox ' being a tender emotional unfolding, incurred a flood of praises overseas and proved as a hefty contender for ' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero '.

As per the early estimates, ' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' must fetch around 7.90 crore nett on Sunday in order to garner 21 crore nett weekend domestic collection. Surpassing 35 crore mark in its first week of release seems to be a tough challenge for this flick, which is made out of budget of around 40 crore.

' Phata Poster Nikhla Hero ' must see a colourful hike in figures as early as possible, as the road ahead might get tough over upcoming release of Ranbir Kapoor starrer ' Besharam '.
